Intro
You can bring most sports equipment with you on your trip, though keep in mind that standard checked baggage fees apply based on cabin, travel region and total number of checked bags. Overweight baggage fees apply to bags that exceed 50 lbs and bags cannot exceed 115 linear in/292 cm (length + width + height). Items in excess of the baggage allowance will be subject to additional, overweight, and oversized baggage fees. Please refer to Calculate Baggage Estimate for additional details. All Sports Equipment must be packed in a durable protective container designed specifically for the equipment.

Parachutes | Sport parachutes are accepted as carry-on baggage only, provided that none of the items are classified as a prohibited or restricted item (Example: pressurized oxygen cylinders). |
Scuba Equipment | Scuba equipment weighing over 50 lbs. will be charged the applicable excess weight fee |
Shooting Equipment | No more than 11 lbs. (5 kg) of ammunition, including case |
Skateboards | Skateboards weighing over 50 lbs. will be charged the applicable excess weight fee |
Ski/Snowboard | If the combined weight of ski/snowboard bags and boot bag weighs over 50 lbs, the applicable excess weight fee will be charged |

Vaulting Poles | Vaulting poles are not accepted as checked baggage or cargo on any flight operated by Delta or a Delta Connection Carrier. |

Shooting Equipment | Locked cases that can be easily opened are not permitted. Be aware that the container the firearm was in when purchased may not adequately secure the firearm when it is transported in checked baggage. |
